Visual Art

You are able to view visual arts at Youngblood, by way of lightly curated exhibitions profiling artists of distinct talent selected by Gavin Younge.

Professor Gavin Younge is a former Director of the Michaelis School of Fine Art.  He has curated or directed projects for the J Paul Getty Trust in Los Angeles, the Instut for Auslandsbeziehungen in Bonn, and the National Art Museum of Iceland in Reykjavik. He is a member of the editorial board of Art South Africa, is represented in South Africa by Everard Read Gallery and internationally by La Noire Galerie in Paris. His work forms part of Bates Off, at the Conciegerie de Paris (until March 2012).

Our first Saturday art a-fare  commenced on 24th March 2012 and will continue every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month.

These will provide talented new artists, with and without prior representation, a professional environment in which to show and sell their works directly to the public and gain exposure to gallery owners who can take them to the next level.

The public has the opportunity to peruse and pick well-priced art from a selection of over 30 artists in a “beautifull” and relaxed atmosphere.

All this can be enjoyed whilst sampling delicious tapas prepared by young aspiring chefs under the direction of Chef Clara Bubenzer.

Youngblood funds all PR/ media of the weekly event and provides all facilities and services needed for a minimal rent per stand. All proceeds go to the artists involved.

In order to maintain a consistently high standard of art, interested artists need to apply via Youngblood.
